Safe and Non-Destructive Hydro-excavation
Situations in confined, sensitive or “no-dig” situations call for a specialized solution. Hydro-excavation is ideal in these circumstances. At Miller Integrated Solutions, we have the expertise to conduct hydro-excavation projects safely and effectively.
Simply put, hydro-excavation is the process of removing or moving soil with pressurized water. Using high-pressure water systems, the soil is removed from the site using industrial-strength vacuums and held safely in a debris tank. Hydro-excavation can also be used for cutting trenches and for locating subsurface pipelines and utilities.
As a technique, hydro-excavation carries numerous benefits over traditional methods of industrial excavation. In fact, hydro-excavation is now the preferred method due to its efficient and accurate outcomes. The benefits of this technique fall into two major categories: safety and outcomes.
Safety
At Miller, safety is always our top priority. Hydro-excavation is a process largely conducted by equipment managed by people, rather than directly by our experts. This safer way to excavate reduces the risk of injury to our team and limits the risks typically associated with the mechanical excavation process.
Outcomes
Using hydro-excavation avoids the risks of damage to underground infrastructure, including pipes, lines, cables and other systems. Mechanical excavation can cause unintended damage to these systems, which impacts project costs for repairs and service restoration.
